AI-powered study assistant for graduate students
GradBot is a way of meeting graduate students where they are. People go to grad school for all kinds of different reasons - some need certification, some want to go into academia, some want practical skills, some are just exploring. Elementary through high school teachers are expected to differentiate their lessons to engage learners of all backgrounds and levels, but higher education often doesn't even try. GradBot is here to help.
As grad students, we complete a ton of work - reading articles, reviewing lectures, writing papers - and then rarely reference any of it again. Files get scattered in random folders, remote drives, or are viewed online and then become inaccessible once the course ends. It's hard to find the time to gather all of that work and organize it into a powerful personal resource.
It's not just the sheer volume. Every class assigns readings without being integrated into a holistic plan set forth by the university. Each course begins with frayed ends, trying to understand the course's goals and materials, grok your professor's worldview and style, and forge your own connections between coursework and your unique path of professional and personal development.
GradBot is still just an AI-based tool, but it's designed to try to help you bridge these gaps. It shows you what you really need to take away from each resource, without getting lost in jargon, academia, and disorganization. It provides optional quizzes and study tools to help you retain information, suggests further reading and reflection, and makes connections between weeks and classes. This all builds towards a powerful semester summary and a portfolio you can showcase in interviews. Plus, you'll have an organized resource you can pull from for the rest of your career.
GradBot isn't designed to replace teachers or peer discussions, it's meant to enhance your existing study habits and grow your curiosity towards having better in-person discussions, helping you apply learnings directly to your career and for your personal development.
Built with: Claude (Anthropic), Python, interactive HTML/CSS/JS. Open to collaboration with educators exploring AI in graduate education.
GradBot is currently helping graduate students turn their readings into organized, interactive study tools. Want to try it for your courses? Beta testers get free access — I'd love your feedback on what works and what doesn't.
